In a nutshell, Anti-Oppressive Supervision™ is an approach to leadership and management that seeks to dismantle systems of oppression and foster equitable working environments.     Managers engage in continuous self-reflection to identify their Oppressive Muscle Memory™, privileges, and blind spots. This self-awareness fuels an understanding of how power dynamics and oppressive habits impact decision-making.

  • Inclusive Dialogue:

    This approach necessitates transparent team dialogue that normalizes the expectation of diverse perspectives

  • Equitable Decision-Making:

    Anti-Oppressive Supervision™ guides leaders to make decisions that counteract systemic biases by first asking “Who benefits most from the system operating this way?”

  • Personal and Professional Growth:

    This approach prioritizes growth for both leaders and their teams. It's not just about achieving goals and valuing humanity over productivity – it's about fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.

  • Change Agents:

    Anti-Oppressive Supervisors are change agents. They actively challenge norms, policies, and practices that perpetuate oppression, contributing to a workplace that champions justice.
